Herbal Medicine

Plants have been used for medicine for centuries all over the world.  Plants are used as food and as prepared medicines.  They are the basis for most currently synthesized drugs.  They have been used by shaman and doctors alike to treat everything from colds to severe disease to spiritual and emotional sickness.

At the Ukiah Naturopathic Clinic we use herbs as allies on the path to optimum health.  We make custom teas and tinctures so that you have the medicine exactly suited to your current needs.  We use herbs for the treatment of acute and chronic illness, to increase daily energy, and to stimulate the healing power of the body.

An herbal tincture is made by extracting the plant in alcohol or glycerin.  This concentrates the medicine into a useable form that can be taken in drops one to several times daily.

Our logo is a picture of the herb Echinacea, which is used as an immune stimulant and antimicrobial.  It can be taken at the first sign of illness and will help the body fight off the virus or bacteria that is attacking your system.
