Nutrition

Good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy body.  The Doctors have studied nutrition extensively and can help you come up with a plan that works for you and your body.  There is not one diet that’s best for everyone, despite popular media’s attention to this topic.  We will help you discover your particular nutrient needs and find the right balance of macronutrients to keep your body strong and resistant to disease.

Eat your Vegetables

The most important thing you can do to prevent disease is to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.  The National Cancer Institute and The American Heart Association recommend 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.  This has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, and other long term diseases.

A serving size is:

  • One medium-size fruit
  • 1/2 cup raw, cooked, frozen or canned fruits (in 100% juice) or vegetables
  • 3/4 cup (6 oz.) 100% fruit or vegetable juice
  • 1/2 cup cooked, canned or frozen legumes (beans and peas)
  • 1 cup raw, leafy vegetables
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit

Gut Health

The gut is the center of health.  What we take in and eliminate determines the health of every other organ system in the body.  Having healthy digestion requires the right nutrients, enzymes, and intestinal flora.

Food sensitivities are extremely common and often overlooked.  Foods that are eaten repeatedly often cause reactions in the gut which lead to inflammation throughout the body.
